Olive & Olive operates client-facing and internal technology platforms supporting service requests, project tracking, asset management, support ticketing, billing, reporting, and service delivery.

As a technology-focused organisation, the reliability and efficiency of these systems directly influence both internal operations and the quality of service delivered to clients. As the organisation grew, it required a stronger technology foundation capable of supporting increasing workloads while improving operational visibility and automation.

Customer Challenge

Olive & Olive's client-facing portal and internal service delivery applications were built on .NET and had become increasingly difficult to manage as demand increased. The platform experienced challenges under concurrent workloads, while manual and high-risk deployments slowed the delivery of new features and improvements.

The company's SQL Server databases contained operationally critical information including client records, service contracts, billing transactions, and SLA performance data. Without high availability, automated failover, and consistently tested disaster recovery procedures, a database failure could directly affect client service delivery.

The organisation also needed better access to operational insights. Analytical workloads competed with live transactional workloads, creating performance challenges and making it difficult to generate timely reports on service profitability, client performance, and SLA trends.

Internally, engineers, project managers, account managers, and support teams worked across disconnected systems. Escalations did not always reach the appropriate stakeholders automatically, project communication was fragmented, and contract approvals depended heavily on email-based processes with limited visibility and auditability.

Partner's Solution

Digitspot designed an AWS modernisation and workflow automation programme to improve the reliability of Olive & Olive's applications, strengthen database resilience, separate analytical workloads, and connect critical operational systems.

The legacy .NET applications were modernised to supported runtimes and containerised on AWS-managed container services. Automated CI/CD pipelines were introduced to standardise application testing and deployment, while elastic scaling provided the ability to accommodate fluctuations in client demand. Centralised monitoring, logging, and alerting were also implemented across production applications to improve operational visibility.

Production SQL Server databases were migrated to Amazon RDS for SQL Server, with Multi-AZ high availability, automated backups, encryption, monitoring, and proactive maintenance introduced to strengthen database resilience and business continuity.

Digitspot also established a dedicated reporting and analytics environment to separate analytical workloads from live transactional systems. This allowed Olive & Olive to gain better operational insights without placing unnecessary performance pressure on production workloads.

Secure, event-driven AWS integration services were implemented to connect core operational systems, while automated workflows were introduced for client escalations, contract approvals, project status notifications, support ticket routing, service delivery notifications, and internal approvals. Reliable message queuing, centralised monitoring, auditing, and secure secrets management were incorporated to improve the reliability and security of these integrations.
