Modernising EkoPeaks Group: Building a Scalable, Resilient, and Unified Digital Environment

EkoPeaks Group is a diversified organisation whose business operations depend on a combination of enterprise applications, databases, and digital collaboration platforms. As the organisation expanded, its technology environment needed to evolve to support greater operational efficiency, application reliability, faster software delivery, and improved collaboration across business functions.

Customer Challenge

EkoPeaks Group was operating critical business applications on an ageing Microsoft technology stack. Its legacy .NET applications had become increasingly difficult to maintain and update because of their monolithic architecture. Changes to individual components could introduce risks across the wider application, while manual deployment processes made releases slower and more difficult to manage.

The organisation's SQL Server environment presented another challenge. Business-critical workloads supporting finance, operations, reporting, and client records required stronger availability and recovery capabilities. The existing environment lacked the level of redundancy, automated failover, backup management, and disaster recovery testing required to provide consistent resilience as the business continued to grow.

Collaboration was also fragmented across Microsoft 365 and QuickSuite. Teams were relying on different tools for communication, document management, and approvals, resulting in duplicate documents, version-control challenges, manual processes, and limited visibility across business operations.

Partner's Solution

Digitspot designed a three-workstream modernisation programme covering EkoPeaks Group's applications, database environment, and productivity platforms. The application estate was modernised to supported .NET runtimes and containerised on AWS-managed infrastructure, creating a more scalable and maintainable foundation for business applications.

To improve software delivery, Digitspot introduced automated CI/CD pipelines that standardised application testing and deployment. This reduced dependence on manual deployment processes and created a more consistent path for delivering application updates. The modernised environment was also designed to support elastic scaling and centralised monitoring, allowing applications to respond more effectively to changes in business demand.

For the database environment, production SQL Server workloads were migrated to Amazon RDS for SQL Server. Multi-AZ deployment was introduced for critical workloads to provide higher availability and automated failover. Automated backups, point-in-time recovery, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery procedures were also incorporated to strengthen business continuity.

Digitspot also consolidated EkoPeaks Group's fragmented collaboration environment into Microsoft 365. SharePoint Online was introduced as a centralised document-management platform, while Microsoft Teams provided a standard collaboration environment across business units. Power Automate was implemented to automate recurring approval processes and reduce the dependency on manual administrative workflows.
